Model description
Starfox, whose real name is Eros, is a member of the Eternals, an evolutionary offshoot of humanity, born on Saturn's moon Titan. Created by writer-artist Jim Starlin, he first appeared in The Invincible Iron Man #55 (February 1973), initially as a supporting figure in stories involving his brother Thanos and Drax the Destroyer. As the son of A'Lars (Mentor) and Sui-San, Eros grew up in stark contrast to his nihilistic sibling, embracing a hedonistic and pacifistic outlook shaped by Titan's advanced society. He later adopted the alias Starfox upon arriving on Earth and joining the Avengers in The Avengers #232 (June 1983), where he contributed his abilities to numerous cosmic and terrestrial threats.
Endowed with the standard attributes of an Eternal—superhuman strength, durability, stamina, flight, longevity, and immunity to disease—Starfox possesses a distinctive psionic ability to stimulate the pleasure centers in others' brains, inducing emotions of euphoria, calm, or affection that can influence behavior. While he generally employs this power ethically to de-escalate conflicts or foster harmony, it has raised profound moral questions. In his early adventures, Starfox served as a longtime Avenger, participating in major events such as battles against Terminus, Maelstrom, Nebula, and the forces of Annihilus, as well as the Kree-Shi'ar war known as Operation: Galactic Storm and the pursuit of the Infinity Gems.
A pivotal and controversial development occurred in the 2004-2005 She-Hulk series (vol. 2 #6-13), where Starfox faced trial for allegedly using his powers to sexually assault a married woman by manipulating her consent. Defended initially by Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk), the case escalated when it was revealed he had subtly influenced Walters herself, contributing to her past infatuation and brief marriage to John Jameson; this led to a confrontation and a broader Titanian trial overseen by the Living Tribunal, with testimony from Thanos and temporary deactivation of his abilities by Moondragon. Subsequent storylines, including Thanos (2016-2018) arcs exploring familial dynamics, A.X.E.: Judgment Day (2022) events involving resurrection and celestial judgment, and formations like the Dark Guardians, have portrayed Starfox as a complex figure grappling with legacy, redemption, and his brother's shadow, while his live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Eternals (2021) introduced him to wider audiences.
