LoRa Training - Local Steps Calculator

Details

Model description

This is a simple phyton code that you run locally on your computer.

I was having trouble finding the correct number of steps for LoRa training so I decided to code this simple script. I made this code for myself but decided to share it with the world incase someone needed it.

All you need to do is download the file and keep it in a safe folder, then every time you need to use it simply copy and paste it in the folder with all the images you will use for training.

The script will count the images and give you the following:

  • Number of Repeats

  • Number of Epochs

  • Total Steps

These are some parameters that were used to keep the calculations optimal.

  • The number of batches is fixed at 2: This means that when training the batches will always be set at 2.

  • The number of steps to calculate have been fixed to be between 3000 and 5000: The reason behind this is that I've been reading that the "sweet spot" for training LoRa is around 3000, so I decided to make this script calculate the steps number so they fall between that range.

  • The file must be in the same folder as the images: You can have other files in the folder but it will only detect image files.

I hope this helps you when training your LoRa's.

If you can spare any buzz please send it my way so I can train more LoRa on site.

Thank you.
