ジョングカベンとサバイは、ラーマ1世から3世の時代に女性の間で広く着られた衣装である。
一般女性の衣装は依然として1枚の布を使用し、胸に巻かない場合はサバイを巻き、下は締まりと動きやすさを確保するためにジョングカベンを着用した。また、長袖のシャツにさらにサバイを重ねて着ることで、より丁寧で品のある見た目になった。
