A Zulu Maiden is an unmarried girl in the Zulu community who wears traditional clothing and participates in the Royal Reed Dance

Clothing 

  • Skirt: A short skirt made of grass or beaded cotton strings

  • Beadwork: Long strips of twisted beads called “izincu” around their ankles, elbows, and waists

  • Necklaces: Colorful necklaces

  • Headbands: Beaded headbands

  • Hair: Short hair
