Something Borrowed (EPS/VPRED)

Version 2

Full disclosure: I still don't really know what I'm doing, but I've got good vibes on things. I just spent the past two months trying to figure out DARE merging, and I had a lot of successes, but I never turned out the kind of results that I was looking for. Despondent, I went poking back through my old models for inspiration when I realized that this model was basically everything that I love, and it just needed a proper repacking.

Again, I didn't add any loras and tried to keep things as pristine as the original creators made them, and there is minimal inpainting in the showcase images (really, just the samurai gal's face and necklace). Just Hi-Res Fix, which probably wasn't even necessary, just habitual, and upscaling with 4x-Animesharp.

Thank you again to the folks whose checkpoints contributed:

Positive tags:

masterpiece, best quality, newest,

Negative tags:

worst quality, bad quality, artist's name,

It defaults at semi-realistic and swings either direction fairly easily. Just put realistic in either the positive or negative to switch modes. Different samplers also give different results as well.

My general preferences are to run it at 25 steps and 5 CFG. I'm more and more a stickler for Euler A as sampler, and I get a lot of mileage out of Karras and Beta for schedulers. I also really like Beta57 from Res4Lyf.

Thanks for sharing images. I always love to see what you all come up with!

Version 1

Full disclosure: I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm not sure how much of this is noob or how much is Illustrious though I did my best to trend toward noob and can revisit later if it needs improvement.

The intention behind this merge has been to make a clean checkpoint that isn't weighted toward a specific application. I like to make weird themes and lots of landscapes, and I've been having fun with this so far. No Loras were merged in during the process, and all of the showcase images are Lora-free with minimal inpainting.

Big thank you to the folks whose checkpoints contributed to this melting pot:

For general purposes, Something Borrowed seems to operate best between CFG 5.0 and 8.0, but it doesn't complain much if you overclock the CFG past 20.

I almost exclusively use EulerA for my sampler with SGM_Uniform for text2image generation and Karras or Exponential for upscaling and inpainting.

I generally size images for 832 x 1216, 768 x 1152, and 1024 x 1024. I do 20 to 24 steps for base generation and the same for hi-res fix at (usually) a 1.5x upscale. I typically like to run my base CFG high to bring in details and throttle it down by 1/4 to 1/2 during hi-res to soften things up.

I assume the standard "masterpiece," "absurdres," etc. keys don't work any different with this checkpoint; I just don't use them. The only prompts I recommend are negative: text, signature, watermark, bad hands,
