Michael Parkes

🎨 Michael Parkes is an American-born painter, sculptor, and master lithographer, widely recognized as a pioneer of Magic Realism. Born in 1944 in Sikeston, Missouri, he studied graphic art and painting at the University of Kansas before embarking on a spiritual journey to India that deeply influenced his artistic vision.

His work blends meticulous realism with mystical and fantastical themes—featuring winged women, mythical beasts, and esoteric symbolism drawn from traditions like Tantrism and Kabbalah. Parkes’ signature style is both technically refined and dreamlike, often described as “realism dusted with magic”.

Now living in Europe, he continues to create paintings, sculptures, and limited-edition lithographs that transport viewers into a world where beauty, mystery, and imagination reign supreme.
