I originally wanted to see if there was already a Turner LoRA available on Civitai to experiment with, but to my surprise, none existed. So I decided to train one myself.
J.M.W. Turner (1775–1851) was one of the greatest painters of Romanticism, often called the “painter of light.” His works are famous for dissolving landscapes into atmosphere, where sunlight, mist, and storm clouds merge into the sublime. Iconic paintings such as The Fighting Temeraire, Rain, Steam and Speed, and The Slave Ship show how he transformed seascapes and skies into luminous visions of color and movement.
For this LoRA, I curated a dataset mainly from Turner’s mid- and late-period works, focusing on his dramatic skies, seascapes, and atmospheric light. After testing, I found that this LoRA is especially effective for landscapes and sublime scenes — while portraits can be generated, they often blend in with stylistic traces of other painters.
I hope you enjoy exploring this LoRA and use it to create visions full of Turner’s unique light and atmosphere.
