Model description
The Curupira is one of the most famous figures in Brazilian folklore. He is a mystical being who lives in the forest and has the mission of protecting nature, especially animals and trees, from hunters and exploiters who destroy it irresponsibly.
His most distinctive feature is his unusual appearance: he is described as a boy or small man with fiery red or flame-like hair and feet turned backwards. This inversion of the feet is meant to confuse those who try to follow him, since his footprints point in the opposite direction. In some versions, the Curupira is also portrayed with green teeth, a small body, and supernatural strength.
Although mischievous and known to play tricks on those who enter his territory, the Curupira can be very dangerous to those who disrespect the forest, leading them astray or punishing them cruelly. He is both a guardian of the forest and a figure feared by hunters.
