Yukinobu Hoshino (born January 29, 1954) is a renowned Japanese manga artist celebrated for his sophisticated science fiction works. Born in Kushiro, Hokkaido, he made his professional debut in 1975 and won the prestigious Tezuka Award at age 21. Hoshino is best known for his masterpiece 2001 Nights (1984-1986) and the award-winning Munakata Kyouju Ikouroku. His distinctive gekiga style combines detailed artwork with serious narratives inspired by Western SF literature. His work has been exhibited at the British Museum (2009-2010), cementing his international recognition as a master of science fiction manga.
