Yuriy Mazurkin is a Berlin-based concept artist known for his richly symbolic sci-fi and dark fantasy illustrations.
Yuriy Mazurkin is a Principal Concept Artist at YAGER in Berlin, Germany. With a Master of Fine Arts degree and nearly 20 years of experience in the video game industry, he has contributed to major titles such as Dead Island 2, Dreadnought, The Cycle Frontier, Dune Awakening, and Exoborne. His work blends fantasy elements with historical and cultural symbolism, often exploring themes of mysticism and surrealism.
Mazurkin’s illustrations have been featured in Expose magazine (issues 8–11) by Ballistic Publishing, and in 2016, one of his concepts was showcased in the Into the Pixel exhibition, earning an award. In 2022, he was a finalist in the Concept Art Association’s annual competition, further cementing his reputation in the entertainment art world.
His style is marked by strong traditional art foundations, and his visual contributions have shaped the aesthetic of games like Dreadnought, where he played a key role in character concept development.
