Dawn is a character from the Pokémon anime, introduced in Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl as a co-protagonist alongside Ash Ketchum, one of the very few companions, along with Goh, to receive that title. She later appeared in Pokémon the Series: Black & White and in Pokémon Journeys. She is based on the heroine of the Nintendo DS games Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, as well as the remakes Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

The most noticeable difference between the two versions is that the anime gives Dawn blue hair, while her game counterpart has a darker shade. Their personalities also vary: the anime portrays Dawn as energetic and cheerful, whereas the original version is calmer and more poised (though still not so ladylike as her manga counterpart, Platinum). Even so, the anime version inherited the trademark vanity seen across all her interpretations, showing more concern for her appearance than most of the girls who have traveled with Ash.

Dawn has always been my favorite female character in the Pokémon franchise, whether in the anime, games, or manga. Back when Sinnoh was the newest region and most people only talked about May because of her large breasts, I was already on Dawn’s side, long before she rose in popularity.

I tried to make this model with many alternate outfits from the anime; many used on training, only a few turned out well, and those are the ones displayed on the page.
