Model description

A gorgeous dress worn by the late Lady Diana Spencer, as Princess of Wales, soon after her husband (now King Charles III) had publicly discussed his infidelity on television, it was selected by Harpers Bazaar as one of the 50 most iconic looks of all time.

The dress is an off-shoulder, knee-length cocktail dress with a sweetheart neckline, asymmetric hem, and trailing chiffon sash, designed by Christina Stambolian. It attracted a great deal of media attention at the time because in 1994 it was considered daring, or even transgressive, to look attractive after your spouse had cheated on you. The look itself stands the test of time, a fantastic example of Lady Diana's signature style that seamlessly and demurely blended striking high-fashion elements into classic ensembles.

I may have another try training this in the future when I have a better understanding of LORA training. While the LORA does a pretty good job of capturing the shape of the dress it is overfit on posture and framing and tends to force the framing that was most common in the training data. It is also inconsistent about some of the fabric textures. Nonetheless I think it is quite usable.

Note that while this dress is strongly associated with a real person, it does not depict any real person and I did NOT use any photos of any real people to train it. The data set was generated using Flux Kontext, together with a image of a dress on a mannequin, to create AI-generate images of fake people wearing the dress, and then after vetting for quality the AI-generated images were used to train the LORA.
