Model description

Colleen Wing first appeared in Marvel Premiere #19 (November 1974), created by writer Doug Moench and artist Larry Hama. She is a highly skilled martial artist and swordswoman of Japanese descent, born to Professor Lee Wing, a scholar of Asian studies at Columbia University, and Azumi Ozawa, whose lineage traces back to samurai traditions. Raised largely by her maternal grandfather, Kenji Ozawa, in the mountains of northern Honshu, Japan, Colleen received intensive training in the ways of the samurai, mastering kenjutsu, iaidō, and other combat disciplines. Following her grandfather's murder, she relocated to New York City, where her path intersected with that of Iron Fist (Danny Rand), whom she assisted in early adventures against threats such as the Cult of Kara-Kai.

In New York, Colleen formed a lasting friendship with Misty Knight after the latter saved her life during a gunfight. Supporting Knight through the loss of her arm and its replacement with a bionic prosthesis, Colleen co-founded Nightwing Restorations Ltd., a private investigation firm specializing in missing persons cases. The duo earned the moniker Daughters of the Dragon for their formidable partnership and frequently collaborated with Iron Fist and Luke Cage as part of Heroes for Hire. Colleen's alliances extended to various heroes, including brief romantic involvements with characters such as Bob Diamond and Cyclops, while she consistently demonstrated loyalty in joint operations against villains like Master Khan, Sabretooth, and the Hand.

Over the decades, Colleen experienced significant personal and heroic developments, including being brainwashed by Angar the Screamer and Master Khan, overcoming a coerced heroin addiction, and acquiring chi manipulation abilities through a mental link with Iron Fist, enhancing her strength, healing, and resilience. During the Civil War storyline, she and Knight reformed Heroes for Hire to apprehend unregistered superhumans. In the Shadowland arc, she uncovered her mother's leadership of the Nail, an elite Hand faction, and briefly assumed command of a new incarnation before rejecting it. More recently, Colleen bonded with the Mind Stone, gaining temporary psychic powers such as telepathy and the creation of a psychic katana, allowing her to confront cosmic threats alongside the Infinity Watch before relinquishing the artifact.
