Terraxia (Marvel Comics | Consort of Thanos)

Terraxia is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe, debuting in The Infinity Gauntlet #3 (September 1991), created by writer Jim Starlin and artist Ron Lim. She was manifested by Thanos using the power of the Infinity Gauntlet after Mistress Death rejected his advances despite his omnipotence. Designed as his ideal companion and equal, Terraxia was crafted in Thanos's own image but as a female counterpart, possessing purple skin, a ridged chin, black eyes, and long black hair, along with superhuman strength, durability, speed, and energy projection abilities comparable to Thanos's own.

During the events of The Infinity Gauntlet miniseries, Terraxia served loyally at Thanos's side in his space palace, participating in the defense against invading Earth heroes. She demonstrated her formidable combat prowess by brutally killing Iron Man by decapitating him and beating Spider-Man to death with a rock, actions that underscored her ruthless devotion to Thanos. She remained with him through his victories over remaining heroes and even cosmic entities, embodying his philosophical ideals while providing the affection he sought from Death.

Terraxia's existence proved short-lived. After Thanos ascended to become one with the universe, leaving his body vulnerable, Nebula seized the Infinity Gauntlet, reversed the deaths inflicted by Thanos and Terraxia, and banished them to deep space. There, Thanos realized he had neglected to grant Terraxia the ability to survive without oxygen, leading to her death by asphyxiation as he watched helplessly. Her brief role highlighted Thanos's emotional vulnerabilities and the consequences of his hubris within the epic storyline.
