Lyssa Drak is a supervillainess in the DC Comics universe, primarily associated with the Green Lantern mythos as a prominent member of the Sinestro Corps. Created by writer Geoff Johns and artist Ethan Van Sciver, she first appeared in Green Lantern (Volume 4) #18 in May 2007. Hailing from the desert world of Talok IV in Sector 3500, Lyssa belongs to a blue-skinned alien species related to the Talokians, known for their shadowy abilities and cultural emphasis on storytelling. Selected by Sinestro himself for her capacity to instill great fear, she wields a yellow power ring that harnesses the emotional spectrum of fear, granting her abilities such as energy constructs, flight, and force fields.

As the designated historian and keeper of the Book of Parallax—a tome chained to her body containing the chronicles and terrifying tales of the Sinestro Corps—Lyssa Drak serves a unique role in indoctrinating recruits by narrating tales of dread and failure. During the Sinestro Corps War, she played a key antagonistic part by capturing Green Lanterns John Stewart and Guy Gardner on Qward, imprisoning them while recounting horrific stories to break their will. Her loyalty to Sinestro and dedication to preserving the Corps' legacy through the book solidified her as a fearsome enforcer of fear-based order.

Subsequent events marked significant developments in her character arc. During the Blackest Night storyline, Sinestro imprisoned her within the Book of the Black to safeguard its prophecies, leading to her feeling betrayed and abandoned upon eventual release. This prompted a temporary defection from the Sinestro Corps, during which she guarded the Book of the Black independently and clashed with former allies. In later stories, including the War of the Green Lanterns and New 52 continuity, Lyssa reconciled or realigned with the Corps intermittently, continuing to embody themes of fear, betrayal, and narrative power within the broader emotional spectrum conflicts.
