vereMortal is a realism-leaning model built to break aesthetic symmetry and idealization in favor of emotional truth. it produces faces with natural asymmetry, uneven micro-features, distributed freckles and skin variation, physically plausible lighting, and expressions that feel observed rather than posed. Through low-amplitude delta infusion prior to final merging, the model suppresses dominant stylistic priors, allowing subtle imperfections, posture cues, and material responses (skin, eyes, moisture, light) to interact organically, resulting in images that read as more genuinely human: emotionally coherent, imperfect, and quietly vulnerable rather than polished or illustrative.
vereMortal is semi-realistic and based upon Neural_Lens' model NL VIBE ILL used with permission as the base for this experiment. I also incorporated deltas from the very first Illustrious model which, while ineffective for direct image generation, contained just what I needed to enhance micro-expressions and facial asymmetry. One additional model was used with full permissions... but some secrets are worth keeping.
Tips
LoRAs should be used sparingly; many tend to flatten emotional nuance. No LoRAs were used in my example images.
Seeds matter. More complex prompts can produce dramatically different resutls from seed changes alone. As an Illustrious-based model, vereMortal natually interprets prompts more loosely.
Emotions respond well to weighting. For example, (angry:1.4) is significantly more pronounced than (angry:1.0).
Weighting prompts like (mature woman:1.2) will easily keep outputs out of the teen category.
Examples were generated using Euler Ancestral though DPM++2M also performs well. All examples were rendered at 35 steps, CFG 6, Karass.
If you use a face detailer, lower CFGs tend to smooth out emotion. For my examples I used CFG 7.
This merge was created using ComfyUI, the Mecha nodeset and an Nvidia 5060Ti (16gb).
