Natural Black Hair Texture Lora for Illustrious/SDXL

Adds natural Black hair texture support to SDXL/Illustrious-based models. The base models have essentially zero training data for natural Black hairstyles beyond a broken "curly_hair" tag that produces anime waves. This LoRA fixes that.

Trained on ~136 images of natural Black hair across multiple art styles, sourced from Gelbooru and Pinterest. Enhances existing danbooru tags that previously produced poor results.

Trigger word: coilycurls

Recommended weight: 0.5 (higher weights produce better curls but may cause style bleed)

Tags:

coilycurls, curly_hair - voluminous natural curls (may be overdefined, lower model weights or add to your negatives for those)

coilycurls, afro - actual textured afro instead of round blob

coilycurls, dreadlocks - defined individual locs with real texture

coilycurls, braids - improved braid definition

Use alongside dark_skin or very_dark_skin. The trigger word does not force dark skin on its own.

straight_hair, wavy_hair, drill_hair, ringlets, smooth_hair, sleek_hair

Trained on: NovaOrangeXL (Illustrious-based). Should work on other Illustrious derivatives. Untested on vanilla SDXL or non-Illustrious checkpoints.
