Bowsette ( Mario series )

Bowsette is a fan-made character from the Super Mario universe, a female version of the antagonist Bowser (King Koopa). She is not a canon Nintendo character.

Bowsette emerged in September 2018 as an internet meme and fan art phenomenon.

On September 13, 2018, the trailer for New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe revealed that the character Toadette can use the Super Crown and transform into Peachette, a replica of Princess Peach.

On September 19, 2018, artist @ayyk92 (haniwa) posted a comic on Twitter showing Bowser, rejected by Peach, using the Super Crown and transforming into Bowsette. The comic garnered over 150,000 likes and 66,000 retweets.

Within days, hundreds of fan art, gifs, animations, and cosplays appeared. The character topped the Japanese Twitter trends under the name "Kuppa-hime" (or "Princess Koopa").
