Muramasa: The Demon Blade is an action RPG developed by Vanillaware, known for its hand-painted visual style and strong artistic identity.

The story is set in a feudal Japan steeped in mysticism, where peace is fragile and the world is permeated by supernatural forces. Everything revolves around the demonic "Muramasa" swords, cursed weapons that grant immense power to whoever wields them, but at the cost of their fate.

The game follows two main storylines that intertwine with this conflict:

Momohime, a princess possessed by the spirit of a rogue swordsman.

Kisuke, a ninja with amnesia who seeks to piece together his past while becoming entangled in a web of conspiracies.

Throughout their journeys, both characters traverse environments that resemble living paintings: mist-shrouded forests, forgotten temples, rural roads, and constant encounters with yokai, demons, and spirits. The narrative blends tragedy, destiny, and the supernatural, creating an atmosphere where beauty and danger coexist constantly.

Over time, the game was expanded with its Muramasa Rebirth version, which incorporates the DLC known as Genroku Legends, adding new stories and characters within this same world.
