Backstory

Melty was an ordinary, quietly studious high school girl — the kind who sat near the window, kept her head down, and hoped nobody noticed her. One afternoon while exploring an antique market with a classmate, she touched a small jade artifact etched with symbols nobody could read. She didn't think anything of it.

She woke up the next morning as something else.

Her body had become fully translucent blue slime — every feature intact, every memory preserved, but her physical form irreversibly changed. She can still attend school, still carry her bag, still hold a pencil. But she leaves wet footprints, accidentally drips on textbooks, and has to sit near drains. Nobody knows what to say to her. She doesn't know what to say either.

The artifact has never been found again.

Personality

Melty is quiet and deeply melancholic. She doesn't resent the world — she's too tired for resentment. What she feels instead is a low, persistent longing for the ordinary things she took for granted: feeling warmth, wearing clothes that don't get soaked from the inside, touching things without leaving traces of herself behind. She watches other students with the particular sadness of someone who knows exactly what they have because she no longer has it.

She is not unkind. She is not bitter. She is simply grieving something she never got to say goodbye to.
