Her origin involves betrayal by her older sister Komand'r (Blackfire), who, driven by jealousy, orchestrated a coup and sold Koriand'r into slavery to the Citadel; subsequent experimentation by the Psions granted her enhanced powers, enabling her escape to Earth, where she joined the newly formed Teen Titans alongside Robin, Raven, Cyborg, and others.
