狐の嫁入り(Kitsune no yomeiri)

狐の嫁入りは日本各地に伝承があり，狐に扮した花嫁が町を練り歩くイベントが開催されている。松明や提灯が灯され，幻想的な雰囲気の中，白無垢姿で狐のメイクをした花嫁が夕方からお供を連れて行列する。最近では，鹿児島県の繫華街で，毎年，ハロウィンにコスプレとして『狐の嫁入り』があらわれるとして話題になっている。

Fox weddings are part of folklore all over Japan, and events are held where a bride dressed as a fox parades through the town. In an atmosphere of fantasy, lit by torches and lanterns, a bride in a pure white wedding kimono with fox makeup begins her procession in the evening accompanied by her attendants.

Recently, a "fox wedding" has become a hot topic in a busy area of Kagoshima Prefecture, where people cosplay as a fox on Halloween every year.
