The Hatter's Hat:
It all started with the original Mad Hatter, Jack the Ripper.
Jack had the insane occult belief that blood sacrifices were the key to immortality and the gateway to the Underworld. His bloodlust lead him to performing a dark ritual in an abandon estate. The blood of his victims had awakened an ancient Evil awaited beyond the looking glass. It was there, in Wonderland, where Jack found true Madness and was never to be seen again.
Hell is in a man's Heart. Deep Dark Desires. It's enough to make you go utterly Mad. To be endlessly Tortured by what you Want most. And if that didn't do it, then you are more than likely trapped like a rabid beast within your own Mind. Around we go, running in circles like hellhounds with fresh bones. But if you ask me, I don't think there was enough tea involved.
In any case, Jack's head was in the right place until it was removed. Orders from your beloved Queen of Desire no less. All that was left of him was the very hat that contained his Madness. Over the many Era's of Wonderland, the hat was passed down from Hatter to Hatter. There wasn't a Hatter that could withstand the ever-growing Madness of the Hat until it found Violet Liddell.
When Violet finally took her place as the Hatter of Prophecy she became one with the Madness of Wonderland and her hair turned white. In the many broken shards of the looking glass she saw every possible ending to Wonderland, none of which ended well. As she tried to change the past it would often only make things worse. Not even throwing away her power could break the Grim cycle of Wonderland. All of Time happens again for both Reality and Unreality.
However some people, who are likely to be out of their minds, insist that she eventually accepted her role as the Goddess of Madness and recreated Wonderland in very Wicked way. There she lay claim the throne as a Queen to the Void and took a new name.
The Hatter's Legacy continues on...
