It's kind of funny to see a guy say that 'laura croft is a woman designed to appeal to men, so she should be written by a man.'

I've kind of noticed an ongoing trend that a lot of people have ignorant opinions on things they don't play or look into, or generally know anything about. Laura Croft has only ever been written, by award winning women. From the start, to today. The whole 'male appeal', is kind of incidental, I figure.

Laura when I was a kid was my moms favorite videogame character, it was one of the few she knew, and she even played the original game on PC, back with the arrow keys and the numpad, in the dark ages before the invention of WASD and mouselook. Laura was kind of a revolutionary character because she was one of the breakout characters that was designed to be an inspirational figure for women that they can also be action heroes too.

Evidently it jived with my mom strongly, and was probably one of the reasons she wasn't adverse to letting me spend a lot of my time playing games, since she came to like them too because of Laura.

People do know the reason Laura has large breasts on her original model, that sort of set the standard, was the designers felt like it was really the only way to make it apparent that she had breasts, right? It wasn't to make you goon, I don't think that was the original intention. Kind of a byproduct.

To me though? I didn't really play the first, I think I played the second or maybe the third, not sure which and it's more fun to go off memory than look it up, but the one I played on the ps1 there was a training level you could select off the main menu where you have a sort of obstacle course on Laura's elaborate mansion. I don't think I even really played the game, at least not the actual campaign, at all.

To me, Laura spends all day every day shooting her elderly invincible butler who follows her everywhere trying to offer her tea as she flips and jumps around her mansion training grounds.

That's all she does, she's rich with infinite ammo and a butler that can't die, so she just shoots him for fun like a complete lunatic with dual pistols for hours like it's a hobby for her.

Even my mom did that.

I'm not going to lie, the only reason I did this model before attempting to sleep is just so I could post this little story and comment on an insignificant person that is generally wrong about everything for a living, sadly that doesn't stop them from making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year doing it. I suppose I did watch the video, my view is part of the ongoing problem trying to figure out the generalized mentally contagious disease that's affecting a lot of men.

Oh well, anti-psychotic injection is tomorrow, or I guess later today, so you've probably noticed if you read these for the last week that I've been a little more manic than usual the last week, one extremely fortunate thing is that last time I decided to swap from getting it in the arm, into getting it in the glute, because I had a sort of theory that would be better, because we used to do it in the glute until they decided to change for unknown reasons and I recalled being a lot more stable back then, the nurse confirmed that it generally metabolizes better in the glute than the arm and is even the recommended location by the pharmaceutical company, so that sort of explains why during the last week of the 12 weeks for the last year I've completely gone off the rails and was extraordinarily unhinged and unstable, it would kind of stop working in a more pronounced way, there's a minor amount of that this time, though mostly just unusual amounts of being excited, happy, and wanting to talk to people. Coffee plays a role too, but thankfully no alcohol since christmas.

If you generally watch content that makes you angry, like news or commentary or reviews, one thing I'll suggest here that I suggested to a friend is to watch videos by people on things they love with genuine sincerity, like the angry videogame nerd's Castlevania retrospective series, for me that's a must watch every halloween month, funny enough the only AVGN content I enjoy anymore, is when he talks about things he enjoys even though it's still in character or out of it.
